Potter swapped Brighton for Chelsea back in September after he agreed to take charge of the west Londoners, following the sacking of Tuchel.

The Englishman has not wasted time settling in, as he remains unbeaten in nine matches that he has been in charge of Chelsea.

However, it was his side's Champions League win over Salzburg on Tuesday night that has earned him a place in Chelsea's history books.

According to ESPN, Potter is the first Chelsea manager to go unbeaten in their first four Champions League matches since Roberto Di Matteo in 2012.

Incredibly, the Stamford Bridge dwellers went on to win the European competition that year after they stunned Bayern Munich 4-3 in post-match penalties at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, Potter has faced Salzburg and AC Milan twice each in the Champions League. He won three of those fixtures, with the other one ending in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

How Salzburg vs Chelsea played out

Sports Brief also reported that Chelsea qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League, as Kai Havertz's sumptuous strike earned a 2-1 win away to Salzburg.

The victory extended the Blues' unbeaten run under new manager Graham Potter to nine games, as they moved four points above the Austrian champions at the top of Group E.

Chelsea's bright start under Potter has been undermined by failing to turn their approach play into goals, which was the case in a dominant first 45 minutes.
