  • Manchester City have been backed to defend their Premier League title successfully this season, despite stiff competition from Arsenal for the English crown
  • However, a supercomputer has predicted that the north Londoners are unlikely to relinquish the position as the season progresses
  • Manchester United have also been confronted with disappointing news, with the supercomputer projecting they will finish sixth

A supercomputer has again predicted the final Premier League table for the 2022/23 season, following the latest round of results.

Manchester City were the biggest gainers from matchweek 13 as they secured a vital 3-1 win over Brighton at the Etihad Stadium, to leave them just two points behind leaders Arsenal.

Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Liverpool all dropped points in their respective fixtures, with Southampton denying the Gunners a golden chance to restore their four-point lead over City.

Chelsea meanwhile, settled for a 1-1 draw with Man United at Stamford Bridge as Spurs and Liverpool lost to Newcastle and Nottingham respectively.

Supercomputer backs City for title

A supercomputer has once again predicted how things could pan out in the English top flight at the end of the season.

According to data picked by boffins and brainiacs over at MyBettingSites, Man City are on course to beat Arsenal to the Premier League title.

Mikel Arteta's charges have been tipped to finish second on the charts ahead of Liverpool and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Man United will have to contend with a Europa League spot in sixth, with Spurs predicted to finish ahead of the Red Devils in fifth.

On the other end of the table, Wolves have been given no chance of surviving relegation after a disastrous campaign so far.

The Molineux-based outfit are predicted to join Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest in the Championship.

Jesus sends Arsenal teammates a message

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Gabriel Jesus has voiced his frustration after Arsenal were humbled by Southampton on Sunday at Saint Mary's Stadium.

The Gunners, who have been in hot form, could not see off the Saints in a tough Premier League clash that ended in a 1-1 draw.

Jesus has reminded his teammates of the need to bounce back soon if they are to sustain their charge for the EPL title.
