Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has been hospitalised after he underwent an operation on his lung earlier on Tuesday morning.
The surgery went successfully with the 75-year-old expected to return to full health in a matter of weeks.
The surgery took place at the Puerta De Hierro Hospital, Majadahonda in Madrid.
According to Marca, 'Papa' Perez had a nodule removed from his lung. The Spanish media outlet indicated that the problem has been resolved and his prognosis is good, although he will likely remain in the hospital in order to recover.

Perez was reportedly present at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday to Real Madrid thrash Sevilla 3-1.
At age 75, the former Spanish politician is one of football's oldest club presidents at the moment.
He remains a meticulous and respected football administrator having led Real Madrid as president for four different tenures spanning from mid-2000.
The septuagenarian is regarded as the greatest club president ever, guiding the Los Blancos o more than 30 trophies, including six Champions League titles.
Perez pushes for Super League
Meanwhile, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has made another appeal for Super League at club’s general assembly.
The Los Blancos are part of three teams, alongside Juventus and Barcelona, who are still pushing for the Super League.
Perez is so committed to the new format that he even used the club’s General Assembly to push for it.
