A former Nigerian international, Henry Nwosu has appealed to the general public to come to his aid over his health condition.

The 59-year-old, diagnosed with an undisclosed ailment, is reportedly receiving treatment at the Asaba Specialist Hospital in Delta State.

It is believed his siblings have been taking care of his medical bills as he continues to battle to stay alive, with reports claiming he lost all his fortune to his treatment.

Speaking with The Punch, Nwosu stated that he awaits further test results and needs all the help he can get to remain alive.

“I can’t say anything now about my ailment until next week, as the results of some of the tests I underwent have not been brought to me."

“Some people have sent me money to help the process, which I appreciate so much. Today (Sunday), someone from an All-Star club I belong to in Lagos sent me N100,000, while another sent me N50,000, which I appreciate. I need all the help I can now to stay alive."

“I know how much I have spent here at the Asaba Specialist Hospital; it has not been easy.”

Meanwhile, Harrison Jalla, the chairman of the Task Force of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria, has made efforts to reach out to the governor of Imo State and the Minister of Youth and Sport to come to the aid of the legend.
