That’s the tale of Eden Hazard and life at Santiago Bernabeu, as the Belgian winger has not featured in six consecutive league games for the Spanish champions.

The 31-year-old has had a troubled spell in Spain since his move from Chelsea and last featured for Los Blancos in a La Liga game last September against Mallorca.

The Belgian winger is Real Madrid's highest earner presently, as he earns an eye-watering €600,000 per week for the Spanish giants.

Hazard earns more than Ballon d’Or winners Luka Modric and Karim Benzema, as well as David Alaba, Toni Kroos and Vinicius Junior.

Eden Hazard’s Belgium place questioned

Meanwhile, Eden Hazard's challenging circumstances at Real Madrid are starting to affect his role for the Belgium national team, Marca reports.

With the 2022 FIFA World Cup approaching, some Belgians are beginning to wonder if Hazard should actually remain a starter, following his lack of game time at Los Blancos.

Coach Roberto Martinez is still committed to the captain for the time being, but he acknowledges that something has changed and he will need to assess the situation in coming weeks.

Real Madrid threatens to terminate Hazard’s contract

Earlier, Sports Brief reported Eden Hazard could be on the verge of leaving Real Madrid as early as January, with the Spanish club reportedly fed up with the Belgian’s continuous injury problems.

Hazard has struggled to replicate his best form for the Spanish champions since making a club-record move worth €115million from Chelsea in 2019.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has lost faith in Hazard and believes the former Blues star has zero signs of improvement this season.
