The head coach of Napoli, Luciano Spalletti has showered praises on Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who scored the decisive goal in their 1-0 win over Roma in the Serie A.
Osimhen powered home from a difficult angle, shoving Chris Smalling before firing the ball into the back of the net in the 80th minute of the encounter.
It was the 23-year-old’s third goal in three games, and Spalletti has reiterated that the Nigerian international can go on to become extraordinary.
Speaking after the famous win, which further confirmed the Partenopei’s status at the top of the Serie A standings, Spalletti told DAZN as per Complete Sports:

“Osimhen has these sudden changes of pace that only he can do. When he gets his emotions sorted out, he will become extraordinary."
Spalletti said that Osimhen tried to everything himself at times without realising where his teammates are, but commented the star on his strength, physicality and prowess in the air.
He further commented that Osimhen was needed to complete the squad.
“He is one of the best headers of the ball I have ever seen. We didn’t give him as much service last season, but he was also decisive when defending on set plays and resolving a lot of issues for us there.”
Spalletti earlier applauded the youngster for his impact in their 3-2 win over Bologna, where he scored the winner in the closing minutes of the encounter.

Sports Brief earlier reported that Victor Osimhen has been nominated in a category at the forthcoming Globe Soccer Awards.
The 13th edition of the ceremony will be held on November 17 at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, with the World Cup kicking off three days later.
Osimhen is up against Rafael Leao of AC Milan, Federico Valverde of Real Madrid and Gavi from Barcelona in the race for the Power Horse Emerging Player of the Year title.
