  • Christophe Galtier was full of praise for Lionel Messi after the Argentina captain delivered yet another masterclass for Paris Saint-Germain
  • Messi continued his exquisite form this campaign with a masterclass performance against Ajaccio, as PSG brushed aside the lowly-ranked side in Ligue 1
  • Since the start of the current campaign, the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner has scored six goals and provided nine assists in Ligue 1

Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier singled out Lionel Messi for praise following his man-of-the-match performance against Ajaccio in the French Ligue 1.

Leo Messi scored once and provided two assists as Les Parisiens strolled past relegation-threatened Ajaccio to keep their unbeaten start to the season intact.

A brace from Kylian Mbappe and the Argentine playmaker was enough to hand Galtier's charges a comfortable win on the road, while strengthening their grip at the summit of the table.

“The pace was less intense in the second half and we were in technical control. We had some key moments and didn’t score, which gave Ajaccio some hope, before our two magnificent goals, including Messi’s," the 56-year-old manager said as quoted by Get French Football News.

He singled out Messi for praise, claiming the 35-year-old is the greatest footballer to have ever graced the sport.

"People come to the stadium to watch Leo play – he’s the best player of all time. He likes playing with the others, he has this quality of wanting to play with others, he is very altruistic and he was amazing on the second goal.”

Journalist cries during interview with Messi

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that a journalist burst into tears during an interview with Lionel Messi, leaving the PSG star awkward and unsure how to react.

Argentina TV host Pablo Giralt was granted the chance to speak with the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner for Latin American publication DirecTV Sports this week.

The 48-year-old started the discussion with his countryman by telling him that interviewing him has been his dream, after which he wept.
