Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has been nominated in a category at the forthcoming Globe Soccer Awards.
The 13th edition of the ceremony will be held on November 17 at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, with the World Cup kicking off three days later.
Osimhen is up against Rafael Leao of AC Milan, Federico Valverde of Real Madrid and Gavi from Barcelona, as they go head-to-head for the Power Horse Emerging Player of the Year, Informazione reports.
23-year-old Osimhen has been in remarkable form for Italian side Napoli this season. He grabbed two goals after returning from an injury in September.

Meanwhile, Ballon d’Or recipient Karim Benzema has been nominated for two awards on the night. The Frenchman is up for the Best Men’s Player of the Year and the TikTok Fans’ Player of the Year awards.
It is believed that 25 players have been nominated for the Men’s Player of the Year title, including Kylian Mbappe, Kevin de Bruyne, Vinicius Junior and Neymar.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Thibaut Courtois, Erling Haaland and Robert Lewandowski have all been nominated for the fans’ award.
Beth Mead, Lucy Bronze and Alexia Putellas have all made the Best Women’s Player of the Year shortlist.
