The Paris Saint-Germain superstar is enjoying an impressive second season with the French side and is in great form heading into the World Cup.
As reported by Sportskeeda, Messi was recently named the Ligue 1 player for the month of September.
The Argentinian attacker narrowly missed out on the award for August, losing out to fellow PSG teammate Neymar. Messi scored once during the month and provided three assists, doing enough to earn himself the award.

The recent stats took his overall tally to eight goals and eight assists in 14 games this season. His brilliant form, combined with that of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, has seen PSG remain unbeaten in Ligue 1 so far.
Messi a serial award winner
Messi is no stranger to winning Player of the Month awards. Despite leaving Spanish football two seasons ago, he still holds the record for most La Liga Player of the Month awards. Messi won the award an incredible ten times during his time with Barcelona.
