Former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer has claimed that Bruno Fernandes looks happier whenever Cristiano Ronaldo is not on the pitch.
Ronaldo has found himself in rather unfamiliar territory this season, with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag continuously excluding him from his starting lineups.
Ten Hag has often preferred Marcus Rashford or the injury-prone Anthony Martial as his strikers. Ronaldo had reportedly wanted to leave Old Trafford, but the move failed to materialise.

Fernandes captains United this season
The Portuguese star has captained United in a majority of the games this season and that seems to have played a huge part in him rediscovering his form.
As the Daily Mail reports, Shearer has now opined that Fernandes is happy when his national team captain is not playing.
"Would I be stirring if I said Bruno looks happier in this team without Ronaldo? I just look at his performance tonight and his energy and look at his leadership and the qualities he has offered both defensively and offensively and he has done so much for them in this performance tonight."
