  • Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly set their sights on signing Liverpool attacker Roberto Firmino
  • Firmino has entered the final months of his contract at Anfield, and Juve are hoping to land him on a free transfer
  • However, the Reds are believed to be keen to retain the Brazilian star beyond next summer after hitting top form this term
  • Despite regressing in recent months, Firmino seem to have rediscovered his spark this term after netting eight goals so far

Juventus are reportedly interested in the signing of in-form Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian forward's current deal with the Reds is set to expire at the end of the ongoing season, paving way for his possible exit should he not renew his contract with the English giants.

Reports now suggest Italian clubs are on red alert and could launch a move for Firmino in the coming months.

According to Goal citing Calciomercatoweb, Juventus are hoping to sign the Liverpool attacker on a free transfer next summer.

The Old Lady contend adding the 31-year-old to their ranks will revive their standing in the Serie A after a decline in recent months.

However, landing Firmino won't be a walk in the park, considering their Italian rivals AC Milan are equally keen on a move.

Liverpool, meanwhile, are also hoping to retain their starman beyond the summer, given his seniority within the squad.

Additionally, the Brazil international has been in hot form this season, having already scored eight goals for the Merseysiders.

Six of those goals have come in the Premier League, while two were scored in the Champions League.

As such, it could prove to be a huge bargain should either AC Milan or Juventus land him on a free transfer.

Allegri turns heat on Juventus players

Sports Brief has also reported that Allegri has appeared to absolve himself of any wrongdoing for the problems bedevilling his side at the moment.

Allegri has instead transferred the blame to his players as Juventus's poor start to the season continued.

The Italian giants recorded their worst result this season when they went down 2-0 to Israeli champions Maccabi Haifa on October 11.
