Oliech warned hardly can one get the big break which most local footballers often bank on before they begin investing.

While speaking with betting firm Mozzart Bet during an exclusive interview, the former Kenyan international underscored the importance of taking leaps and bounds in their investment journey as it was easier to achieve.

"I can’t really talk about finances because I’m not an expert in that but they should at least invest something," he said when asked what footballers can do to avoid a financial crisis after quitting.
"If you have some money start a business for your partner or wife, our players wait to make millions of money but that will never come.
"If you want to make millions go to Europe, here you will never make a lot of money," he added.

Oliech made his own big break while turning out for Qatari club, Al-Arabi, in the early 2000s.

At the time, he plundered 12 goals in just 17 appearances to court the interest of the French side, AS Monaco, in 2005.

Monaco are said to have tabled a mouthwatering offer of $10million (about KSh 1 billion) to sign him, but Al-Arabi turned it down.

However, the Menace, as he was fondly referred to, would later still seal a switch to France, joining the top-flight side, Nantes, at the time.

He went on to feature for Auxerre and Ajaccio during his illustrious career in France before returning to the Middle East with Dubai CSC.

He would later quit the club in 2015, winding up his career with Gor Mahia, who, on August 2019, terminated his deal under unclear circumstances.

Despite his eminent football career in Europe, Oliech is thought to have hit a rough patch financially, with the iconic forward attributing his situation to a huge medical bill he had to shoulder for his late mother and brother - both of who succumbed to cancer.
