Kaizer Chiefs rocked by Caleb Bimenyimana lengthy injury news

Kaizer Chiefs has suffered an injury that the club could ill afford.

The club's new goal-getter Caleb Bimenyimana has reportedly suffered a thigh injury that could sideline him for the rest of the year, as reported by Sports Brief.

According to SABC Sport, this will see him miss important fixtures like the second leg of the MTN8 semifinal against Amazulu this weekend - the tie is currently locked at 1-all - and the much-anticipated Soweto Derby against Orlando Pirates at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, following the Amakhosi's unexpected and costly 2-1 loss against Chippa United last Saturday, coach Arthur Zwane said:

“We are taking it one game at a time. We need to focus on the game against TS Galaxy on Wednesday and make sure we do well at home. Additionally, we approach league and cup games differently, so our preparation is for Wednesday. We will go out there and give it our best.”

The Burundian is currently tied with Mamelodi Sundowns hitman Peter Shalulile at the top of the DStv Premiership goal scoring chart, with six goals apiece.

Chiefs is in fourth place with 17 points after 11 matches, while Galaxy sits in 11th spot with 11 points.
