Real Madrid might have had a successful night at the 2022 Ballon d’Or awards but midfielder Toni Kroos is bemused the La Liga giants missed out on the “club of the year” category.
Despite having a stellar season where the Spanish giants won the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles, Real Madrid lost out on the award to Manchester City.
Los Blancos were ranked third behind the English Premier League champions and Liverpool and that caused Kroos to react on social media as the German seemed bewildered by the decision, Daily Mail reports.

Real Madrid had knocked out both Manchester City and Liverpool en route, lifting their 14th Champions League crown, with the Citizens falling to Los Blancos in the semi-finals.
The Spanish giants also defeated Liverpool in the final in Paris, with a Vinicius Junior goal edging the game in favour of Real Madrid.
Kroos tells teammates retirement plans
Meanwhile, Toni Kroos has opened up to his Real Madrid teammates about his intent to retire when his current contract with the La Liga giants expires at the end of the season, Fansided reports.

The German midfielder celebrated his 250th appearance in La Liga, and spectacularly marked the occasion.
Kroos made his debut in La Liga by coming on as a substitute against Córdoba in 2014 and made his 250th appearance against Barcelona in the first competitive El Clasico of the season.
