Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski has sent Erlng Haaland a cautionary note, following the Man City star's hot start to life in the Premier League.

Haaland has not shown any signs of struggle since his summer move to the English top flight from Borussia Dortmund.

The towering Norwegian star has been firing on all cylinders, with the 22-year-old boasting 20 goals to his name so far across all competitions.

His impressive goal scoring streak has sparked a conversation that he could replace the ageing Lewandowski.

Didier Drogba made the same suggestion while presenting the Gerd Muller Trophy to Lewandowski at the Ballon d'Or awards, with the Chelsea legend warning Lewa of a 'kid' at Manchester City who is 'on fire' - a reference to Haaland.

In response, Lewandowski hinted that his time is not up just yet, backing his strengths and goal scoring ability to help him defend his top scorer title next season.

"The season is very long, and I know for me it's also a new chapter with Barcelona. Since the first days, I'm feeling very well in this club," the Pole said as quoted by Daily Mail.
"This is football, and we have to be always ready. I know the new generation is also coming, but still I am here," he added.

The former Bayern Munich star has already scored an impressive 14 goals since he joined Barcelona, with nine of those coming in the La Liga.

Haaland names his childhood heroes

Sports Brief had earlier reported that Manchester City marksman Erling Haaland has named Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli as two of his childhood heroes growing up.

Haaland is currently the talk of the town, owing to his impressive performances since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

He has been so impressive that he is well on course to win the Premier League golden boot in his debut season.
