Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly still has the faith of the Man United board despite the club hitting a rough patch in recent days.
United have lost three of their last four matches across all competitions in a poor run of form that has left Solskjaer under immense pressure.
Solskjaer led the Red Devils to a frustrating 1-0 loss to Aston Villa at the weekend.
The defeat, which came only days after they had been bundled out of the Carabao Cup left the tactician facing increasing scrutiny, with a section of fans demanding his dismissal.
The frustrating run of results came after Solskjaer was backed in the summer transfer window, with Raphael Varane, Jason Sancho, and Cristiano Ronaldo all joining the club.
With those signings, there has been increasing expectation that the Red Devils need to be in the mix for titles after failing to win any trophy since Ole's appointment in 2018.
Mirror UK now reports the United boss has backing from the club's chiefs who remain adamant he is the right man to lead the Old Trafford outfit back to glory days.
The 48-year-old was rewarded with a new three-year contract during the summer window having shown significant progress.
Ronaldo reportedly plans to retire at Man United and take up coaching role
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to end his career at Old Trafford and take up a coaching job at youth level with the Red Devils, according to several reports online.
The Portuguese superstar made a sensational return to the Theatre of Dreams on the last day of the summer transfer window.
Despite being 36, Ronaldo has scored four goals in five matches in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer since his return to Man United.
Now the five-time Ballon d'Or winner wants to see out his career at the club and possibly take up a coaching role in the youth side which his son Ronaldo Jr, plays for.
The former Juventus striker signed a two-year deal at the club until he is 38-year-old but Solskjaer believes the Portuguese icon can play into his 40's.
