Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson stepped onto the pitch on Sunday to hand Cristiano Ronaldo and David de Gea their plaques, congratulating them on their milestones.
Ronaldo in particular was congratulated after hitting 700 club goals. Before the Newcastle United game kicked off, fans in the stadium witnessed a wholesome moment between the two club legends.
Ferguson himself signed Ronaldo when he was teenage prospect in 2004 and both went to achieve unprecedented success. The latter has cemented himself as one of the greatest - if not the greatest - footballers of all time.
The 37-year-old's goal versus Everton last weekend was his 700th club goal and his 144th for United in his two spells at the Red Devils, according to the BBC.

CR7 reacts to meeting Ferguson
In a tweet, Ronaldo expressed his delight at meeting his former boss. The tweet included pictures of the Portuguese hitman hugging Ferguson, with a broad smile beaming on his face.
The two shared a warm embrace on Sunday and Ferguson seemed excited to meet Ronaldo. The 37-year-old has always been fond of Ferguson and has said they shared some great moments together.
“There were so many beautiful moments that we had together. Not just winning things, but in my heart I keep the most difficult things," Ronaldo said in an interview on the club's official website.

Sports Brief earlier reported on reported Ronaldo fuming after Erik ten Hag substituted him while the team was chasing a goal.
Ronaldo was visibly annoyed by the decision and could be seen verbally expressing his frustration.
However, ten Hag defended his decision, saying he had to rotate his team ahead of four games in 10 days, beginning with Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
The Red Devils will visit Chelsea next weekend, and both fixtures will certainly test their depth.
