What EPL matchweek 11 delivered:

1. Liverpool are alive and well

Jurgen Klopp's side shocked the world with their 1-0 win. They went into the Manchester City clash with just two wins in the league this season, but a resolute performance backed by the crowd saw them bounce back emphatically.

2. Arsenal show title-winning grit

Arsenal's match was momentarily suspended after 69 seconds, but that did not dampen the Gunners' spirit. Bukayo Saka scored the winning goal, but they withstood wave after wave of attack from Leeds, proving why they can go all the way this season.

3. Manchester United lacks depth

The Red Devils drew their first match this season after their 0-0 stalemate with Newcastle United. Erik ten Hag's men missed great chances to win it. Christian Eriksen did not play due to illness and one could notice his absence. Their lack of depth will show with a run of tough fixtures.

4. Steven Gerrard living dangerously

Aston Villa's four-game unbeaten run came to an end after a disappointing 2-0 defeat against Chelsea. Gerrard was jeered after the final whistle as he headed down the tunnel, according to the BBC. A tough run of fixtures awaits Villa, and it remains to be seen if the Liverpool legend can come out of it unscathed.

5. Tottenham Hotspur are in the title race

Antonio Conte's side produced an underwhelming performance versus Everton at home. However, they demonstrated why they are right in the mix of the title race with a hard-fought 2-0 win against a stubborn Toffees side.

6. Nottingham Forest are in trouble

Wolves snatched a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest after a missed penalty. With Leicester City earning a point, Forest dropped to the bottom of the table. They play Brighton, Liverpool, Arsenal and Brentford in their next four games - things could get worse for the Tricky Trees.

7. VAR is still a hot topic

The Video Assistant referee (VAR) is still a hot potato in the Premier League. Most of the games of matchweek 11 had several incidents that caused an uproar among fans. The technology will continue to evoke strong emotions because it usually changes the direction of matches.

Liverpool stun Manchester City

Sports Brief earlier reported on Liverpool snatching a crucial win over Manchester City in a breathtaking encounter at Anfield on Sunday.

Mohamed Salah's 76th minute goal was enough to inflict a first league defeat of the season on the defending champions, who failed to turn up.

Liverpool are now 14 points behind leaders Arsenal.
