Multiple award-winning Canadian rapper Drake has placed a huge bet on FC Barcelona and Arsenal to win their respective league games on Sunday, October 16.

Drake staked a staggering 833,333 Canadian dollars on Arsenal's away fixture with Leeds United and Barcelona's titanic clash with Real Madrid which could land him a whopping 3,900,002 Canadian dollars should both teams win their matches.

Arsenal will head to Elland Road sitting at the apex of the Premier League table, having all of their Premier League games bar Manchester United this season.

Despite going into the tie as favourites, the Gunners will be wary of the danger posed by Leeds, who have a formidable record at home, winning three and drawing two in their last five home games.

Elsewhere in Spain, FC Barcelona will hope to dust themselves from a disappointing midweek draw with Inter Milan when they cross swords with bitterest rivals Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu in the El Clasico.

For the clash they will also be sporting Drake's "OVO" logo as their sponsor, celebrating the fact he was the first artist to reach 50 billion streams on Spotify - whom the club are sponsored by, as reported by BBC.

Both clubs - Arsenal and FC Barcelona - will be hopeful they can avoid the well-documented "Drake curse", as explained by Mirror.

Below are some of the comments from social media users:

@FrankKhalidUK tweeted:

"Waiting patiently for Drakes's curse to happen to both teams."

Another user, @itslafajj who appears to be an Arsenal fan quizzed:

"Has this guy just cursed us."

@Dr___kez wrote:

"Drake lost $800k."

@Smalline82 believes the Canadian rapper will be left in premium tears after the games:

"He's gonna be heartbroken."

@KieranXi122 believes Drake's investment will go waste:

Barca fans wary of 'Drake curse'

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that some Barcelona fans have reacted negatively to the club’s collaboration with Canadian rapper Drake and have taken to social media to express their fears about the new partnership.

The Catalans revealed they will be wearing the Canadian rapper’s record label logo on their jersey for El Clasico against arch-rivals Real Madrid, to the dismay of many of the club’s supporters.

According to Sport Bible, Drake has been blamed for several sports stars and teams losing their next game or fight, after posing for a photograph with the four-time Grammy award winner.
