Thomas Frank in particular also showed hints of gamesmanship when the ball rolled into his technical area.
The Brentford boss appeared to stand the way of Brighton player Joel Veltman as he tried to reach for the ball to get the game going once again.
Veltman however seemed focused on the game and did not pay too much attention when Thomas Frank shoved him from behind, but Di Zerbi was not so forgiving.
The Brighton boss quickly went out of his technical area, invading Frank’s space but the Bees manager stood his ground.
As expected, both factions including substitutes and coaches rushed to the scene to try and quell the situation while others were simply showing support to their respective managers.
Thomas Frank was the calmer one on the situation, although he displayed hints of some passive aggression.
In the end, it was the Brentford boss who had the last laugh as the home team doubled their lead with Ivan Toney securing his brace from the penalty spot.
