FootballFans React As Scott McTominay Is Caught Sleeping Before Scoring Last Gasp Man United Winner in Europa League
- Manchester United's midfielder Scott McTominay was reportedly taking a nap before coming off the bench to score the winner for his club
- The Red Devils had struggled to break down Cyprus opposition Omonia during a Europa League clash at Old Trafford
- Erik ten Hag brought on McTominay late in the second half with the midfielder scoring from close range during stoppage time
A photo doing rounds on social media of Scott McTominay seemingly taking a nap on the bench has elicited widespread reactions.
The midfielder started from the bench when his Manchester United side faced Omonia in the Europa League at Old Trafford on 13th October.
United's efforts on goal were constantly thwarted by Francis Uzoho in the Omonia goal. The game looked destined for a goalless draw, only for McTominay to show great composure in stoppage time to score the winner.
He had replaced new signing Casemiro with less than 10 minutes of regular time to go. However, a photo of him sitting on the bench surfaced online.

Fans react to McTominay's 'sleeping' photo
In the photo, McTominay appears to be sleeping rather than concentrating on the proceedings on the pitch. The camera angle might have caught the Scottish international at a bad time, as maybe he was just looking down.
However, that did not deter fans from making a light moment out of the situation.

FootballWell, that nap definitely ensured Erik ten Hag's side got maximum points. They still trail group leaders Real Sociedad, who are yet to drop points this season.
McTominay breaks 23-year-old by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
Sports Brief had earlier reported that Scott McTominay was Manchester United's hero on Thursday night in the Europa League after scoring an injury-time winner against Omonia Nicosia.
Omonia's keeper Francis Uzoho was in inspired form, keeping the Red Devils out for most of the match.
Erik Ten Hag's men went into Thursday following a hard-fought win over Everton in the Premier League the previous Sunday. Despite barely winning the first leg against the Cyprus minnows, United were expected to register an easy win.
