Today March 8 is International Women's Day, an event held around the world to commemorate the struggle for women's rights.

According to the United Nations, it is “a day when women are recognised for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political. It is an occasion for looking back on past struggles and accomplishments, and more importantly, for looking ahead to the untapped potential and opportunities that await future generations of women.”

And in honour of amazing women, Legit.ng’s is doing a thread on some of the best Nigeria female footballers that have ever played the round leather game.
