At least five teams from the 32 competing in the Champions League have mathematically qualified for the knockout round of the competition, with two matches to spare.
Defending champions Real Madrid and English giants Manchester City were the first teams to book their spots in the last 16.
Madrid, who are in Group F of the competition, are currently topping the pool with 10 points after four rounds of matches.
The La Liga side have not lost any match so far in the group stages, with the Carlo Ancelotti-tutored outfit picking up three wins and a draw.

City meanwhile, are leading Group G with 10 points, three points ahead of second-placed Borussia Dortmund, who are their closest challengers.
Italian league leaders Napoli, Germany's Bayern Munich and Belgian outfit Club Brugge complete a set of five teams through to the next round.
Napoli booked their place having already won all four matches in Group A, which also includes Liverpool, Ajax and Rangers.
Bayern have also maintained a 100% record thus far in Group C, while Club Brugge will be playing in the knockout round for the first time in their history after a stunning run of results in Group B.

The Champions League Round of 16 draw is scheduled to take place on November 7, 2022, at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.
The draw will take place exactly five days after the conclusion of the group stage fixtures on Wednesday, November 2.
Teams from the same division cannot be paired together at this stage, but will surely face off once the tournament gets to the quarter-final round.
While Real Madrid will be looking to win the tournament for a record 15th time, other teams including Man City and Paris Saint-Germain, are keen to conquer Europe for the first time.
