RugbyFormer Amazulu Coach Brandon Truter Jokes That Witchcraft Could Have Caused His Firing
- Former Amazulu coach Brandon Truter has decided to look on the brighter side of life
- Truter was shown the door by the Durban-based Usuthu over a week ago after a poor run of form
- He has since half-seriously said that his sacking was a result of the dark arts as he looks for a new job
Former Amazulu coach Brandon Truter has laughed off his recent firing by the Durban-based club.
Truter became the fourth coach to find himself without a job after a string of poor results at the helm of the ambitious Usuthu. The team had only won one of its last seven matches, having initially started off the season in spectacularly good form.
According to the Daily Sun, Truter mused:
"Coaches are judged based on results. It is a results-orientated industry and I do understand where they are coming from. I finished in two top 8s, with Amazulu and Swallows, and that's the competition that got me fired. That's the supernatural powers, maybe."

Regarding the manner in which clubs are run, mainly impatiently, the 45-year-old said:
"They just focus on the goals they've set for their clubs without any exceptions - just in case anything wrong happens. From the Amazulu side, we released 15 players and signed 15. But in life, you don't always get what you want."
"It's 15 new players, 15 characteristics, 15 weaknesses, 15 strengths, 15 different cultures. That's football for you."
Amazulu has since appoint former Marumo Gallants boss Romain Folz as their new coach, as reported by IOL. The Frenchman resigned from that position at the beginning of September.
Swallows fires Kerr after defeat
The inevitable has happened for Dylan Kerr at Moroka Swallows. As reported by Sports Brief, the Birds sacked the Maltese coach following a 4-0 defeat by Golden Arrows on Saturday.
It was never a good start for him this season, having battled to gain a work permit from the Department of Home Affairs, while Swallows were struggling on the pitch too.
