Chelsea assistant captain Jorginho was spotted laughing at AC Milan's midfielder Sandro Tonali during a post-match interview session.
Chelsea and AC Milan had already faced each other, with the English side claiming a 2-0 win to complete a double over the Italian champions.
There were a lot of controversial decisions from match-day referee Daniel Siebert however, which provided fodder for post-match analysis.
Milan were reduced to 10 men after only 18 minutes when former Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori was sent off for a last-man challenge on Mason Mount.

The penalty decision was agreeable to most fans, but the red card felt a little bit too harsh and against the rules of double jeopardy.
Jorginho stepped up and scored the resultant penalty. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang added another one just before half-time to take Chelsea top of their group.
Siebert also issued 9 yellow cards in total. Tonali was quizzed after the game about what he made of the officiating and he said:
"There are so many incidents like that during a game. When you give a penalty and a red card after 18 minutes for a touch like that," Tonali told Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Metro UK.
"We may as well make it basketball, where any touch is a foul. It felt like that anyway, we had several yellow cards for ridiculous, embarrassing free kicks in the first half alone."
