Former Liverpool midfielder Graeme Souness, now a pundit, has admitted that he is changing his mind about who is better between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The never-ending debate between the two arguably best-ever has always been divisive. The duo has shared the stage for more than a decade, winning almost everything at their disposal.

Souness had previously admitted that he was pro-Messi. After Ronaldo scored his landmark 700th club career goal over the weekend however, he admitted that he was now leaning towards Ronaldo.

The pundit revealed that Ronaldo's ability to thrive in different leagues has given him an edge over his arch-rival. He was speaking on Talksports as quoted by the Mirror:

"Ronaldo has done it in the big leagues. Messi has huffed and puffed in France and obviously, he's done in Spain and the Champions League. But Cristiano's done it in three leagues now. Spain, Italy and England, whereas Messi, OK, he's having a good year this year, but he's only really done it in Spain."

Messi is currently enjoying a better season of the two. The Paris Saint-Germain forward has been in scintillating form under Christophe Galtier, bagging five goals and seven assists so far in 10 games.
