Iker Casillas set to end football career after suffering life threatening heart attack

Goalkeeper Iker Casillas is set to quit active football after suffering a heart attack on Wednesday, May 1, during a training season with Portuguese giants FC Porto.
Speaking with the media on Casillas' latest condition after his life threatening scare, club doctor Antonio Corbalan disclosed it will be impossible for the shot stopper to play professional football again.

According to Calciomercato citing TVE, the Real Madrid legend who is still under medical observation after emergency surgery, is not expected to play active football again.
"With all of this, it is practically impossible to obtain sporting fitness. He can return to a normal life, but not to professional football,” the medical doctor warned.
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Casillas was rushed to hospital after suffering a heart attack during training.

Fortunately, the Spain world cup winner's condition stabilised and was out of any imminent danger after being taken into care earlier in the day.
The veteran keeper was taken from the field feeling unwell during Porto training.
The Spaniard suffered a myocardial infarction and was subjected to cardiac catheterisation-the insertion of a catheter into chamber or vessel of the heart.
Casillas started his career at Real Madrid in 1990 playing for the junior team.
He joined the senior team in 1997 and made his debut the following season (1998).
The Spanish international has won two champions league and five La Liga titles.
Casillas name is in history books as the third captain after Franz Beckenbauer and Didier Deschamps, to win the World Cup, the Champions League trophy and the European Championship trophy.
