The Spanish midfielder spent 22 years at the Blaugrana before joining Vissel Kobe in Japan in 2018.
Now at 38 years old, Iniesta is thinking about his future and admitted that he would love to return to the Catalan club at some point, Football Espana reported.
“I will continue for another year here and then we will see. I would love to return to Barca, it is my home,” he said.

Football“I still don’t know in what capacity; manager, sporting director, or something like that,” Iniesta added.
He added that he would still need to train for whatever role he wanted to perform at the club but that for now, he still saw himself as a player.”
“It’s nice to think that someone who has been and given so much to a club can continue doing so, even if they stop playing,” Iniesta mentioned.
Iniesta played 674 games for Barca over the course of 22 years, Transfermarkt noted.
Barcelona have a track record of employing former players as managers. Johan Cruyff and Pep Guardiola both played for the club before becoming managers.
Currently Xavi, a player who achieved much alongside Iniesta, is the manager of the Catalan club and is achieving great success with the team. Barcelona are top of the La Liga table, above Real Madrid on goal difference.
