The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped from 31st to 32nd in the latest FIFA ranking, released by the world's football governing body on their website on Thursday, 6 October.
Nigeria who are three-times African champions dropped in the latest ranking days after losing 2-1 against Algeria in their last international friendly encounter.
Coach Jose Peseiro and his wards went into the game against Algeria with boosted morale, but they allowed their opponents to come back from a goal down to win.
In the ranking by FIFA, Senegal who are the reigning African champions are being rated as the best nation in Africa and they are occupying 18th in the world.

With the latest ranking by FIFA, the Super Eagles of Nigeria now occupy 4th position in Africa behind Tunisia (3rd), Morocco (2nd) and Senegal.
Interestingly, Algeria - who defeated Nigeria in the last international game - occupy 5th position in Africa and 37th in the global ranking.
Meanwhile, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are expected to face Costa Rica on November 10 in an international friendly and will also tackle Portugal on the 17th.
Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles and Napoli striker Victor Osimhen reportedly welcomed his first baby which is a girl. The Nigerian player is said to have celebrated the latest development.
