According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo's quest to leave Manchester United could be answered in January if Turkish giants Galatasaray manage to price him away from Old Trafford.

The 37-year-old was expected to leave the club in search of Champions League football, but a suitable deal did not arrive.

Ronaldo's miserable season continued on Thursday night, after missing a sitter during the club's Europa League match versus Omonia in Cyprus.

However, the 22-time Turkish champions do not play in the Champions League. Therefore, it is unclear if a move to Turkey would interest Ronaldo.

Ronaldo made a highly anticipated return to United last season and was clearly their best player. According to ESPN however, United experienced their worst Premier League season, missing out on Europe's premier competition.

Ronaldo has just one goal this season, a penalty against Sherrif Tiraspol in the Europa League, and has cut a frustrated figure on the bench, especially during the Manchester derby.

Erik ten Hag stated that Ronald is happy.

"I didn't bring him on out of respect, it's nothing to do with what’s happening for the future or January or next year. I don't see he's unhappy, he's happy, he's training well, he's enjoying it."
