Manchester City on Monday, March 29, made the announcement that Aguero would be leaving the club at the end of the season.

On his part, the 32-year-old also affirmed the development, posting an impassioned statement detailing how the Citizens had formed an important of his life.

Despite not being offered a new deal, Aguero leaves Manchester City as one of the club’s legends, largely because of his goal exploits.

While Guardiola admitted it might be possible to replicate Aguero’s 257 goals for the Citizens, he was also wary of the Argentine’s influence over the team for more than a decade.

“Sergio is irreplaceable. I could say in terms of numbers he could be replaceable but it’s not easy. When you see around 360 games and more than 250 goals, the amount of titles,” Guardiola said.
He’s a legend, the best striker I ever had at this club… but he’s irreplaceable in the mind for our fans, to our people and to the players that played alongside him or the manager who worked with him.
“A fantastic person and human being. I think if his mind is still aggressive like he is, he can stand his career longer for two, three, four or five years.
“I still think he has interesting goals to score for us this season. Fortunately, he’s only been out for one season.
"We’ve had a lot of success but we’ve missed him in some moments.”

One of his greatest moments at the club was when he scored the title-winning goal against Queens Park Rangers at the end of the 2011-12 season.

A number of clubs are already monitoring Aguero’s situation including runaway Serie A leaders Inter Milan, although reports claim the 32-year old prefers to stay in the Premier League.

Ahead of his exit, Aguero could win his fifth Premier League title with Manchester City, who have an unassailable lead at the top of the log, with eight games to go.
