Real Madrid are set to extend the contract of Brazilian forward Rodrygo until 2028, following the 21-year-old’s impressive performances for the Spanish giants.
Rodrygo, whose current deal is set to expire in 2025, has been in talks over extending his deal at the Santiago Bernabeu with negotiations now believed to be in the final stages.
It has now been revealed that Real Madrid has inserted a release clause of €1billion in the new deal for Rodrygo in a bid to scare away prospective suitors, especially from the Premier League.
Rodrygo has excelled since joining Real Madrid’s first team in 2019, forming a key partnership with Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema in the Spanish giant’s attack.

The 21-year-old also played a key role in Real Madrid securing both the La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles last season.
