Kobel has missed out on the team’s last five games in all competitions after picking up an injury, BVB Buzz reported. Despite returning to training, he is yet to make a return.
Dortmund are hoping that Kobel will be fit in time for their next Bundesliga clash when they take on Bayern Munich this coming weekend. Reus, who injured his ankle ligaments during Dortmund’s game against Schalke 04, is also nearing a return but out of action for the time being.
Dortmund have been plagued by injuries this year. They were without six players in April before a game against Bayern Munich, with Kobel and Reus also among those side-lined.
How have Dortmund performed in the Bundesliga and Champions League?
The Black and Yellow are currently fourth on the Bundesliga table, one place behind Bayern Munich, though only because of goal difference. They are in second place in Group G of the Champions League, three points behind Manchester City and two points above both Sevilla and Copenhagen.
