CAF president Patrice Motsepe has the proverbial bee in his bonnet.
Africa's football chief is unhappy with the standards of the beautiful game on and off the field, across the entire continent.
As reported by the Daily Sun, showing how annoyed he was with the smallest to biggest details undermining the sport in Africa, Motsepe said that the African Nations Championship trophy was of a school sports standard, and not that of a prestigious international football tournament.

"Many of the things I have seen must change. We must improve. The trophy for CHAN, we must make it nicer, we must make it bigger. We've already asked for the competition for schools [to participate in its redesign]. We need to invest a lot of money in schools football."
He also demanded that all CAF competitions must become world-class, with facilities and organisation of these matching that level.
According to MSN, he also wished Cameroon, Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia well ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar starting in November, where each nation is seeking to be the first from Africa to win football's biggest prize.

The west African country, one of the poorest in the continent, currently has only one international-standard stadium, and the Cup of Nations requires six.
