The Belgian is believed to have asked for Ronaldo's shirt before the derby and he ended up getting it after the match. Manchester Evening News reports that the midfielder walked in for an interview after the game holding Ronaldo's shirt.
De Bruyne has previously expressed his desire to play with Ronaldo stating that his assists tally would go up, as the Mirror reports.
The 31-year-old was once again instrumental for his side by bagging two assists, as Erling Haaland and Phil Foden each grabbed hat tricks.
