Karim Benzema is a prolific striker, there’s no denying that.
The French striker however, has struggled to find the back of the net from the penalty box of late.
As reported by Football Espana, Benz has set a new record in La Liga, but it’s not something he will be particularly proud of.
The Real Madrid frontman has become the first player in La Liga history to have missed three penalties against the same goalkeeper. That keeper is Osasuna’s Sergio Herrera.

Herrera first came up trumps against Benzema in April when the Madrid man missed two penalties against him. Thankfully for Los Blancos, they won that game 3-1. He then got the better of him last night as Benzema struck the ball against the crossbar.
The miss also resigned Madrid to their first dropped points this season as they drew with Osasuna 1-1, 90Min reported.
To make matters worse for Madrid, Benzema’s miss also painted a bleaker picture of the team’s penalty record.
In their last seven penalty attempts in the league, Madrid have missed five of them. Benzema has missed four of those five, while Eden Hazard failed to convert the other one. On the previous four occasions, Madrid have still gone on to win the game.

Sports Brief reported earlier that Karim Benzema betrayed the trust of Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior, as Los Blancos dropped points for the first time this term.

The Frenchman, who scored a staggering 44 goals in 46 matches across all competitions last season, missed from 12 yards as Madrid shared the spoils with 10-man Osasuna on Sunday.
