Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo has expressed unhappiness over his side's Premier League defeat against Everton on Saturday, 1 October in which the Nigerian scored.

After missing the international break where the Super Eagles played against Algeria in Oran in which they lost, Joe Aribo was given the chance to start against Everton.

And the former Rangers' man did not disappoint as he scored in the 49th minute to give his side the lead before they later conceded two goals and lost the tie.

Joe Aribo's reaction

“To concede so soon is bitterly frustrating, and I and the boys were really not happy about it. We need to go back to the drawing board, focus, and learn from our mistakes.

“That’s the Premier League. Sometimes if you don’t take your chances, you get punished – that’s the game. If you make mistakes, you get punished also.
“We just need to recover because the games are coming thick and fast, and we need to be ready.''

Super Eagles star scores 1st League goal of the season for European giants

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported how Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu on Saturday night, 1 October, scored his first League goal of the season for Genk in their 2-1 away win over Oostende in what was a challenging battle.

After featuring in seven games without scoring, the Nigerian striker can now be happy with himself netting his first goal which will also serve as a tonic.

Saturday’s win for Paul Onuachu and his teammates means Genk stretch their unbeaten streak to nine games with eight wins and one draw.

They currently occupy second place on 25 points just two points behind leaders Royal Antwerp.

As things stand, Paul Onuachu will hope to get invitation for the next Super Eagles friendly encounter against Portugal.

Portugal will use the game against the Super Eagles as their final preparatory game for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
