Erling Haaland's Father Gives Worrying Update on His Son's Future at Manchester City

• Erling Haaland’s father has strongly suggested his son will not stay at Manchester City for too long.

Erling Haaland will not be at Manchester City for the long term, if his father Alfie’s wishes are anything to go by.

After signing for Manchester City for £51.4million in the summer, Haaland has hit the ground running at the Etihad, and is currently the leading marksman in the Premier League with 11 goals in seven games.

Despite currently playing in arguably the best league in the world, Haaland’s father Alfie, believes his son still has aspirations of exploring other top leagues in Europe.

So far in his career, Haaland has only tasted football in Norway, the Bundesliga and now the Premier League.

“He could have 2½ years in Germany, 2½ in England, and then in Spain, Italy, France, right?” Alfie Haaland told The Times in remarks that will certainly have Manchester City fans thinking.

“We do not know if it will be like that, but I think he would like to test his abilities in the big leagues.”

Haaland, who is on a £400,000 a week deal at Manchester City, penned a five-year deal but The Sun reports that the contract has several break clauses.

In a past interview, Haaland strongly refuted the notion that he moved to City for the money.

“I think money is important for everyone in this world. To make the most money, that is not the main focus, but you would like to make as much as possible.”
