The viral screenshot declares Real Madrid captain Karim Benzema as this year's winner of football's most coveted individual diadem.

Benzema, who has been tipped to win the 2022 Ballon d'Or by seven-time winner Lionel Messi, is deemed as the firm candidate to annex the prize.

According to the photo making rounds on micro-blogging App, Twitter via Tribuna, Benzema finished in the first position while Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane and Liverpool's Mohamed Salah were ranked in second and third positions respectively.

Benzema is not the Madrid player who made it to the top 10 rankings as teammates, Vinicius Junior (fourth), Luka Modric (eighth) and Thibaut Courtois (10th) completed the list, according to the leaked photo.

This year's Ballon d'Or ceremony will take place at the Theatre du Chatelet, Paris on Monday, October 17, according to GOAL.
