Kante went off injured on the second match day of the Premier League against Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge. The midfielder had put on a characteristic N'Golo Kante performance before he limped off with a hamstring issue.
His injury coincided with Thomas Tuchel's poor run of form, culminating in his sacking. His return will give Potter more options at the centre of the pack.
Despite his recent injury issues, the 31-year-old remains one of the best players in his position.
Chelsea said on their official website:
It’s welcome news for Graham Potter ahead of a mammoth month ahead, with nine matches scheduled across October in all competitions.
His return to fitness will also be a boost to France head coach Didier Deschamps. Deschamps will be desperate to have at least one of his World Cup-winning midfield up in Qatar later this year. Paul Pogba remains a huge doubt.

Kante had rejected Chelsea's initial contract offer
Sports Brief had earlier reported that N'Golo Kante had become the latest Chelsea player to reject a new Chelsea deal as he nears the end of his contract.
Kante is understood to be very comfortable at Chelsea and wants a longer deal than the one the club is offering at the moment.
Chelsea have offered Kante a three-year deal, including an initial two-year deal with the possibility of a further year. The Frenchman however, wants at least four years.
