Kane has now come out and thrown his weight behind Maguire, absolving the United star from any blame.
The England skipper claimed the under-fire centre-back played on ‘one leg’ in the final stages of the clash as he had sustained an injury.
"Any individual mistake, you’re going to be gutted. But we are a team, we will get behind each other," Metro UK quoted Kane saying.
"He [Maguire] had a pretty decent injury there at the end, where he played another five, 10 minutes, on almost one leg.
"Great character from him, I’m really proud of him for that," he added.
