  • Players of the Die Mannschaft (German national team) will take home a whopping €400,000 each for winning the World Cup which will be staged in Qatar later this year
  • Qualifying from the group stage at this year's World Cup will earn each player €50,000 while a spot in the quarterfinals will net them €100,000 each
  • A semi-final berth is worth €150,000 each while finishing in third place would earn Germany’s players €200,000 each. Losing in the final would be rewarded with a €250,000 bonus

Players of the German national team will pocket a staggering €400,000 for winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup as revealed by the German Football Association (DFB).

The near half a million bonus was reached following a successful negotiation between the leadership of DFB and the team's representatives comprised of Manuel Neuer, Thomas Mueller, Joshua Kimmich and Ilkay Guendogan.

The bonus for the title win is up from €350,000 for the last edition in 2018. Following Germany's triumph at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the players received bonuses of €300,000 each.

Rudiger slams FIFA for choosing Qatar as World Cup hosts

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Antonio Rüdiger has criticised the decision to name Qatar as the host nation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Rüdiger is just one of many who have spoken out about the decision, but the German international believes he knows why the decision was made.

As reported by Football Espana, Rüdiger said that Qatar's hosting of the tournament was proof that money played a significant role in football.
