United had a busy summer transfer window that saw Erik ten Hag make additions in his backline, with both Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martinez linking up with the Dutchman at the Theatre of Dreams.
Given the array of options Ten Hag has at the heart of defence, it meant that Jones did not stand any chance of making this season's squad.

According to ESPN, the England international could have potentially played his last game for the Old Trafford dwellers.
The ex-Blackburn Rovers star has not featured for the English giants this season, with his last appearance coming back in April 2022, when he was named in the squad that played Liverpool.
