Fabregas, who played alongside Messi at the Camp Nou, has now shed light on what the future holds for the Argentine superstar.

Asked about the prospect of Messi returning to Barcelona, Fabregas admitted that that could be an option for the 34-year-old.

He, however, suggested that the ball is in Barca's court to make the reunion possible.

“I don’t know if it’s possible. It could be an option if Barca are open to it. It would be a beautiful and happy ending," Fabregas told RAC1.

Meanwhile, Messi is said to have informed PSG that he will not be making a decision on his future at least until after the 2022 World Cup.

Footie fans angry with Mbappe for blocking Messi's goal-bound effort

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that fans have expressed anger with Kylian Mbappe after inadvertently blocking Lionel Messi's goal-bound shot during PSG's clash with Brest.

Messi has been in hot form for the French giants since the start of the new season, playing a vital role in PSG's bright start to the campaign.

And the Argentine ace was at it again on Saturday, September 10, as he set up Neymar for their side's opener at the half-hour mark.
