  • South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan is once again putting fires out where Hugo Broos is concerned
  • The Bafana Bafana coach said that the organisation lacked a certain aspect of professionalism which undermined the national team
  • This is not the first time Jordaan was not pleased with the 70-year-old Belgian's bluntness

South African Football Association president Danny Jordaan is once again displeased with Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

The brusque Belgian last week said that the organisation 'lacked professionalism' that made his job as Bafana Bafana coach difficult.

In response, Jordaan said according to the Daily Sun:

I have not seen those comments. I haven't seen him to understand what's that he had to say. Our most successful team are our juniors - they qualified for the world cups and Olympic Games, so maybe he is talking about something else."

In June, the 70-year-old Belgian ripped local football for its low quality, which prompted Jordaan to say then:

“I will sit down and talk to him [Hugo Broos] about it [media comments]. Because it’s important that these matters are dealt with organisationally and that is what we will do. I cannot comment on details because I was here and of course, that press conference was in Johannesburg.
"That’s why I say I am not in a position to comment on things that I have not heard or seen. But I will engage him on this matter.”

Bafana Bafana coach says that criticism after France, Morocco and Ghana losses was unfair

Bafana Bafana's coach Hugo Broos continues to shoot from the hip.

The 70-year-old Belgian, who won the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations with Cameroon in 2017, said that criticism of him and the national side following a run of defeats this year was unfair. The team lost 5-0 to France in a friendly, 2-1 to Morocco in an AFCON qualifier and Ghana 1-0 in a FIFA World Cup qualifier.

Broos said:

“I have to admit that we had a period behind us that was disappointing. We had three defeats. The only thing was that I felt the reaction to those three defeats was unfair."
