  • Newcastle manager switched it up on Saturday as he turned up for the game against Bournemouth in a suit
  • This was Eddie Howe’s way of paying his respects to to Her Majesty Elizabeth II before returning to his trademark track suits
  • The Magpies played out a 1-1 draw as their winless run continued in the Premier League

Eddie Howe briefly ditched his signature track suits on Saturday, September 17 as he wore a suit to pay respects to the Queen.

The tactician looked quite sharp in a suit as players and fans observed a minute’s silence and the National anthem in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

At Saint James’ Park, Howe was clad in a black tie with a black suit as players from both the Newcastle and Bournemouth camp wore black armbands for the match.

After the tribute, Howe returned to his usual Newcastle tracksuit, a style fans know him for.

How the game went

As far as the game was concerned, Newcastle remain without a win since the opening day of the season as the game against the Cherries ended in a 1-1 draw.

Howe fell behind against his former side, who struck through Philip Billing in the 62nd minute.

But five minutes later, the Magpies were back level and their equalizer came from £60m summer signing from Real Sociedad Alexander Isak

Newcastle were dominant for long periods as they enjoyed 72% possession and 20 attempts at goal, but the one thing that was lacking was the clinical edge in front of goal.

For Bournemouth, it was a point that interim boss Gary O'Neil will gladly take away from home as the Cherries stay 12th on the log with eight points.
