In a recent interview with ESPN journalist Hugo Sanchez, the 39-year-old was asked to name who the greatest player of all time is between Brazil icon Pele and Argentina superstar Lionel Messi.

While Alves offered his respect to Pele, the Brazil international appeared to choose Messi as the best player of all time.

"Pelé because football has changed. Messi changed a generation," he said as cited by Barca Universal.
"All those people who are more than football, I’m going to stay with them. For me, Pelé should not enter in that debate. Who is the best player in history? Messi. Pelé doesn’t fit in there."

Lionel Messi has lit up the football world for almost two decades with his amazing dribbling and playmaking skills.

The Argentina captain signed for PSG last season from Barcelona and initially suffered the consequences of a sudden change.

However, the 35-year-old appears to be back on top form this season, running the show for the Parisians in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.

With Messi looking hale and hearty on the pitch once again, PSG are favourites for every club competition this season.

Barcelona Honours Dani Alves With Emotional Tribute After Defender Departs La Liga Club for a Second Time

Sports Brief earlier reported that Dani Alves will always be regarded as one of Barcelona’s best-ever right-backs and the Brazilian was duly honoured by the Catalan giants on Sunday, August 7, at Camp Nou.

The Brazilian defender had ended his second stint with the La Liga club this summer after Barcelona had failed to renew his six months deal with the club.

According to Goal, Barcelona organised a heartwarming tribute to Dani Alves prior to their meeting with Pumas UNAM in the Joan Gamper Trophy as he was presented with a framed Barca shirt which included the No.431 on the back.
