Bayern Munich defender, Bouna Sarr says he is disappointed to be missing the 2022 FIFA World Cup after undergoing surgery on a persistent knee injury.
The Senegal defender had surgery on Wednesday, September 14 as he has been battling with Patella problems which forced him away from the game as he is yet to make a single appearance for Bayern Munich this season.
Sarr has now revealed making the decision to have the surgery is the wisest decision for his career, even if it means he will be missing football’s biggest competition in November, HITC reports.

“I don’t know how to express my disappointment to be away from the pitch for the coming months, and especially to miss a World Cup.
“It was not an easy decision to make but after many months of thinking, I understood it would be the wisest, and above all the most reasonable, decision for the rest of my career.”
Sarr moved to Bayern from the Ligue 1 powerhouse Marseille in October 2020, and in just two seasons, he has already won two Bundesliga championships, FIFA Club World and German Super Cup.
