The argument on who between the two football stars is the greatest of all time has often left many football lovers divided.
The debate has lasted for more than a decade now, with the pair dominating the football space during the period.
However, on his part, Zidane chose Ronaldo when he was once asked to choose the better player between the duo.

Zidane, who, just like Ronaldo, is affiliated with Real Madrid, spoke highly of the Manchester United star while responding to the never-ending debate.
According to the legendary French star, Ronaldo is actually a better player than he was while he was a player.
"Cristiano is the best. Messi is his rival and it's the rivalry everyone wants to see. But Ronaldo is phenomenal," Goal quoted Zidane saying.
"There are no words to describe him. He is much better than me even though I had a great career. He's the greatest of all time," he added.
Both Zidane and Ronaldo have a special connection with Real Madrid.
Besides the duo playing for the La Liga giants, Zidane had a rare chance to coach Los Blancos when he went into football management.

FootballIncredibly, Ronaldo played under the Frenchman during their time together at Santiago Bernabeu as Zidane led the Spanish side to three Champions League trophy wins and a Liga title in 2016-17.
Ronaldo and Zinedine Zidane both left Real in the summer of 2018, with the former moving to Juventus in a stunning transfer.

Mbappe, meanwhile, has lit up the football world since making his debut at the age of 17.
