Roma legend Francesco Totti has opened up about his struggle with depression after learning that his former wife was cheating on him.
Totti enjoyed an illustrious career with Roma spanning 25 years before he hung his boots in 2017.
However, despite his outstanding career, his social life did not quite flourish post-retirement, with the Italian parting ways with his long-term wife, Ilary Blasi.
Totti and Illary had been together for nearly 20 years, with the couple formalising their union in Rome in 2005.

However, the pair decided to call it quits, with reports in Italy suggesting that they broke up sometime around July 2022.
Francesco Totti says Ilary Blasi was cheating on him
Totti has now opened up about his struggle with depression after he learned that his wife was cheating on him.
According to the legendary midfielder, he first heard infidelity rumours involving his wife from people close to him.
While it was difficult for Totti to believe them, he decided to undertake his own investigation.
The former midfielder divulged that he confirmed the rumours as true after looking at Illary's phone.
“I looked at her mobile phone. And I saw that there was a third person, who was acting as an intermediary between Ilary and another one," Totti said in an interview with Corriere della Sera, per Marca.

“Here was the evidence. The facts. And that led to depression. I couldn’t sleep anymore. I pretended nothing was wrong, but I was no longer me, I was someone else. I got out of it thanks to Naomi," he added.
